Today I uploaded the files for our new title, so the book will be ready for purchase in a couple of weeks. I selected this one for AIA Publishing for several reasons: I feel that a true story embellished with the author’s imagination and backed up by research always gives a book a special touch, but when combined with engaging characters and written English skills that were good even before editing, I was impressed. As with many of AIA Publishing’s books, there’s also a metaphysical element due to Lily, the woman loved by four men, being a medium and having genuine spiritual healing powers. However, this book looks more at the character of the medium, her desires and motivations, than her specific spiritual activities.
The story is set in England and spans the two world wars of the 20th Century. Managing a story with such a scope has certain challenges, which the author managed well after feedback, and we further refined it with line editing. Though based on the life of the author’s grandmother, we’re calling it historical fiction, and it could also be called historical romance, though it’s not your usual romance because there are four men, each with their own story.
If you enjoyed Out of Latvia, then I think you’ll enjoy this also. It’s a clean read – no hot and heavy sex scenes.
Thanks to Rose of Velvet Wings Media for the lovely cover.
