Recently I’ve had the pleasure meeting many budding authors while promoting my “Realm Traveller” YA fantasy series at book signing events. The most frequently asked question is ‘How did you get your first book published?’ In this very competitive industry, many would-be authors become disheartened and give up after receiving a few knockbacks – I should know, I was one of them. I had a great story to tell, one I was confident in, but finding someone to recognise the diamond in the rough was the challenge. That’s when I was introduced to Tahlia at AIA Publishing. Tahlia came highly recommended by a friend, also an author, having had nothing but positive experiences with the publication of her books. And it became apparent why from the get-go. Tahlia saw my book’s potential, encouraged me to have her YA specialist, Brent Meske, look at it, and between them, guided me to successfully complete two novels, with a third on the way.
Both Tahlia and Brent have been amazing – generously offering good, constructive advice and direction, which helped refine not only the storyline but also my writing skills. It was quite an education for me, having spent the last thirty-three years in the health/medical industry, with very little literary experience.
As you can appreciate the journey from beginning to end has been an exhilarating yet daunting one, and thankfully, Tahlia was able to take the burden of having the books published, printed and to a degree marketed, allowing me to concentrate on my writing.
And as for the graphics, Rose from K.Rose Kreative has been amazing, bringing my dream to life in the covers she helped design and create.
What more can I say? AIA is a one stop shop! Their attention to detail and professionalism is to be commended, and I highly endorse their services.
